Community College Project

Lower your cost, raise your knowledge beyond university

The Community College Project is an e² initiative created to provide students with the resources they need to succeed in concurrent or summer enrollment at a California Community College. We initiated the project in response to rising tuition costs and the burden of student loans. According to UCSC’s Office of Admission in the 2020-2021 academic year, the annual expected cost for a California Resident is $39,245 for on-campus students, $35,361 for off-campus students, and $28,776 for commuter students. These amounts reflect an increase of up to $2,000 from the 2019-2020 academic year cost. This is in addition to the loan debt many students know they'll be incurring throughout their time at UCSC.

Being enrolled at UCSC does not mean community college is not still available to you. Taking courses at a community college and transferring the credits toward your UC degree is a great way to complete lower-division and general education requirements, all while saving money on tuition.
