O'CONNELL HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS VISIT!

On February 4th, e^2 hosted a student panel and campus tour for junior and senior students from O'Connell High School in San Francisco.

Thank you to all the volunteers and chaperones who came out to help facilitate this visit. Special thanks goes out to the O'Connell students who participated! Your presence on campus was very much appreciated and enjoyed. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need anything at all from us. e^2 is here to support in any way possible!

TO OUR LOVELY COMMUNITY..
We've been in touch with UCSC and e^2 alumni EDEN JEQUINTO (for those of you involved in yield SIO weekend last year or student of color conference, she was here on campus to speak at both weekends and is always down to help us out here), and she's expressed interest in putting two programming ideas into effect!

The first idea is to put on a workshop for students (especially senior students, but open to all!) on post-graduation life. It will address issues on how to defer loans, transitioning into the work world, getting involved in non-profit work and youth organizations, understanding social services, resumes, interviews, etc. She's really willing to put on any workshops that you, as students, feel are necessary and needed to grow and be prepared for post-grad life.

The second idea is to create more non-yield outreach/programming (non-yield meaning outreaching to students who have not been accepted into UCSC or college in general). She works with youth in Oakland and has expressed over and over that it's so important for us to offer our services to them in any way possible. These are the youth that need us the most, and it's definitely important for us to use our privilege to support them. This is a very general concept, but she's got a lot of ideas and would love to share them if folks are down to get involved.

What we are asking of you as the community, is that you e-mail ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or contact us with ANY input you have to put these two ideas into effect. Even if you're just interested in getting involved or this sounds like something you'd like to see on campus, please LET US KNOW! Eden has requested that we take a survey of how many people would be down for each idea so we can get an estimate of how many workshops we'd need to put on or how many people are really invested in getting some non-yield outreach going. But of course surveys don't work if no one responds, so get at us!

Thank you all so much. Your feedback is ALWAYS appreciated.

REQUESTS FOR OUTREACH!

For the remainder of this Winter quarter, unfortunately we will not be able to take on anymore requests for outreach (student panels/campus visits) since we have reached our capacity for the quarter. Thank you to all the high schools and programs that have worked with e^2 to connect with us and visit the campus!

We will be able to accept more requests when Spring quarter rolls around! Thank you!
