A low income, immigrant, and working class population characterizes both the Mission Neighborhood and the Tenderloin Neighborhood. The common demographic location of two neighborhoods makes them susceptible to a common experience with the real estate boom in the city of San Francisco. Come to our FIRST PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE MEETING of spring quarter!

We will be going over what kinds of events/workshops/discussions e^2 wants do this quarter, ways that people can volunteer and help out with event planning, and more specifically, details on our upcoming event called SPEAKER BLOWOUT!

Never heard of Speaker Blowout before? Here's the short and sweet description: Speaker Blowout, is an annual UCSC event organized by students to create social, cultural, and political awareness surrounding issues that affect our communities. Previous speakers for this event [including Jesse Jackson, Bobby Seale, Saul Williams, and Chuck D] have addressed issues regarding education and race. This year we've narrowed down our list of speakers and have extended offers to two very inspirational leaders to come speak and perform at the event. Come to the meeting to find out who they are!

The meeting will be on:
MONDAY APRIL 14TH, 2008
at 7:00PM
at the e^2 center!
